Praise God for Doctors

So just wanted to praise God for how he puts people in my life to make me more usable to further His kingdom.  Many of you know how I hurt my neck a couple of weeks ago.  I visited our new doctor and he  told me that I wasn't experiencing migraines, (thank goodness) but rather, I was having tension headaches due to EXTREMELY tight muscles in my shoulders and neck.  He prescribed me medication that relaxed my muscles in my neck.  He also asked me to put heat on my neck and stretch my shoulders and neck three times a day.  AMAZINGLY... I only had to take the medicine for three days and I felt 100% better.  Even more of a blessing is that I have not experienced ANY anxiety or any of the symptoms of anxiety since I have been stretching my neck.  So far I feel great, and I am continuing to pray for a life free from anxious thoughts and feelings!

God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand. I'm an open book to you
even from a distance, you know what I'm thinking.

   You know when I leave and when I get back;
I'm never out of your sight.
You know everything I'm going to say
before I start the first sentence.
I look behind me and you're there,
then up ahead and you're there, too—
your reassuring presence, coming and going.
This is too much, too wonderful—
I can't take it all in!

Something I need to live by...

Ephesians 4:26-32  NIV
In your anger do not sin.  Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold...Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit who listen...Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving eachother, just as Christ forgave you.
Ephesians 4:26-32  The Message
Go ahead and be angry.  You do well to be angry--but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge.  And don’t stay angry.  Don’t go to bed angry.  Don’t give the Devil that kind of control in you life.  Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth.  Say only what helps, each word is a gift.  Make a clean break with all cutting, backstabbing, and profanities. Be gentle with one another, sensitive.  Forgive one another, as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.
I love the differences in the translations. I love what it tells me. I love that I can hurt and not have to be angry.  I need to remember that each word is a gift. I need to be compassionate and forgive others. Why?          Because God said so.

Beginnings

October is the start to yet another journey in my life. Plato said “The beginning is the most important part of the work.” Right now, I am in the process of applying for intern positions at Clinical Psychology agencies in my area. There are five that I am interested in. I have my resumes and cover letters ready. I ask that your prayers be with my applications as they meet the supervisors at the agencies. Pray that the agencies can see the talents and blessings God has given me, so that I can help promote positive change in the lives of others. Pray that as I interview at these places I would be confident and wise. Pray that I would be placed at an agency that fits my personal style. Pray that God uses me in an awesome way. This is an important time in my life; the REAL start of gaining experience for my career.

Backpacking in Jennie Lakes

The girls: Jenny, Megan, Lisa, Tricia, Delaney (the dog). It was Jenny and Lisa's first time backpacking, and they were troopers!

The group resting halfway up "Pooped out Pass" for some lunch.

Our awesome campsite... Right on the edge of the lake, fire place, flat rock table, three perfect spots for tents, and tons of bathroom worthy trees and caves.

Kasey and I on the second day... just relaxing.

After our little walk to the other side of the lake we decided to get some group shots.

Our camp is in the background on the other side of the lake.

It was perfect weather. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend!
